Common Threads Quilting Group

Nita McSpadden had the passion to start a quilting group at Mountainview with the goal of making baby quilts and blankets for babies born into our congregation as well as our members of who are going through radiation treatments. As a community outreach, quilts are also given to the Pregnancy Resource Center and Legacy Mt. Hood Hospital. Bev Campbell is currently organizing the Common Threads Quilting group.
Common Threads meets the first Tuesday of the month at Mountainview in room 111 at 6:30 p.m, September through June. Several times a year the entire group gets together for a sewing day which is always a good time of fellowship, fun and food.
Common Threads has been quilting for over five years and to date there have been over 1000 quilts made and given to members of our church family and our community. Quilts have also been sent to the Mathare slum of Nairobi, Kenya.
Since all of the fabric, thread and batting needed to make a quilt is supplied by the members of the quilting group, donations are appreciated. We can accept good, clean cotton fabric or cotton batting.
