We had friends over Mon night and as the night went by, they finally asked us what the blue braclets were all about. I said, I've been hoping you would ask.I want to tell you about my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and what he's done for me. They listened and accepted the braclets. God planted a seed. Just watch what happens.

I share hope each day working Care Network. But I never thought I would share my hope bracelet with one of our very own members of the church. She sat behind me Sunday morning and needed hope that God would carry her through this week. She asked to meet with her this week to share in her struggles. She is one of the "hurting" that has come into the church asking for hope. So it has been proved to me that I can give hope to our own- the hopeless aren't always outside of Mountainview walls.

I went to work on Monday thinking about my hope braclet and was waiting for a sign from God on who to give my braclet to.I knew on Friday that a fellow teacher I work with was having to go to a call back to talk about something the Doctor found and needed to discuss it more. So I was already thinking about Susan. So when I got to work and I had heard that she has to have a lump taken out thursday. I was thinking about her & couldnt stop. Then all of a sudden I had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to give her the braclet now. So I did, I told her what it was for and this will give her hope.I know that no matter what happens that she will now have some hope.

We are at the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock, TX with our newborn granddaughter. She was born 5 weeks early and is in the NICU at University Medical Center. While we were sitting in the kitchen Monday evening, a very distraught young man came in. I asked him how he was doing and he told me the horrible story. His wife was full term with their third little boy and had a scheduled c-section, as the baby came out, he swallowed and inhaled amniotic fluid, collapsing his lung, caving in his chest and breaking his sternum.
The baby was life-flighted here to UMC. They did not know if he would live through the night. He and his wife had to alternate between the NICU and the house in order to be with their 2 and 4 year olds.
He was hopeless.
I asked him if I could pray with him. I prayed about the hope we have in Jesus and specifically for the healing of their little boy.
We met him in the hallway Thursday afternoon with his child in his arms and they were taking him home! He thanked me for the prayers and gave God the credit for his son's life! Praise the Lord!

We were on our way to meet a friend tonight, someone that has been on my husband's heart to share with about why he has hope. While driving through a parking lot, the friend texted my phone to let us know where to meet him. We stopped driving to read the text. There, right next to us was an old pickup truck with a canopy. In the back of the truck was a women, around 30 years old. Her name was Cindy. She had a Boxer sitting next to her. In the truck was lots of blankets, clothes, and misc. rubbish. I asked her how she was doing and we had a conversation. Her close friend had just passed away and she was heart broken. I let her know that I cared and so did God. I gave her my bracelet and told her I would continue to pray for her. She thanked me, looked at the letters on the bracelet and then put it on her wrist.

When I started out on March 13 my son Aaron's 23 Birthday I would have never guessed who God was going to put into my life to give the HOPE bralet to. Aaron passed away in 2003 and these big days when they come I have a hard time deciding where to go and what to do. This day I started out crying finally decided I needed to go to the gym, crossed Burnside on Cleveland heading pass the church. I looked to the left and in the door way of an empty building were 4 men. (looked homeless with carts and a few blankets). I passed and decided to turn around. I pulled up got out of my car introduced my self and they told me there names. I explaned about what my day was and how God has given me hope, asked what I could do for them. one man needed size 32 pants, another sleeping bag, another blanket, coat and a brush. I told them about Gods hope for them and I had 3 HOPE bralets I let them decide who got them and gave the 4th one an Aaron button "DREAM BIG, MAKE A DIFERENTS" to me the buttons is hope and has several meanings. I told them I would be back so I went home got into Aaron's draw in his bed room and wouldn't you know size 32 jeans, I new then God had set it all up, I finished my list and went and bought hot choc and pastries and return. They were so excited they asked what they could do for me. I told them they did I'm not crying any more and would love to have them as a guest at our church down the street 1/2 block. God is awsome he help me and also helped them.

I Monday after I received the first bracelet I as working for a client that has had a lot of health problems and has truly lost hope. Her faith goes back and forth. When we had talked for a few minutes, I took the bracelet off and told her I hoped she would wear it. She just looked at me, then broke out in tears, hugged me so hard I could hardly breath, then said, "This is exactly what I need." When I stopped tearing up, we were able to talk for a while. Now my prayers for her increase!

Bracelet moment. I didn't imagine how I would ever share with someone how my life changed through Christ, or how I would start the conversation, but I put the bracelet in my pocket.
At work I noticed a fellow worker reading and noticed the book was "Jesus Interrupted". It started a talk about faith and our doubts, and later when I got my coat I gave him the bracelet, and he said he'd check out the website. Who would have thought?

I mailed one of my bracelets in the mail today to Texas. I have a relative there that is slowly loosing her battle to cancer. I would have loved to give it to her in person.
The letter said:
Lovely Aunt Debbie,
I wanted to send you this bracelet that I got from my church. I am sending it to you because I love you and I wanted to tell you why I have hope. I have hope because through all heart ache, hurt, suffering, and all the turmoil in this world. I have faith that one day all those who believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins will gain ultimate peace and everlasting life through their faith. If you look on the bracelet it is a website from my church mvcclive.com/hope.
I am praying for you.
Love always,
Kandy Flores

My husband, Lyle, passed away this last February. My grief had escalated to the point of crying most of the day here at home. TJ's sermon on Hope came when I needed help with my grieving. I took a blue bracelet to remind myself of the Hope I have in Christ Jesus. I had the opportunity to give the bracelet to at least 3 people but hung on to it for 3 or 4 weeks being reminded continually of my Hope in Christ and being with Him some day. Then I went to the bank to do some business. The teller saw my blue bracelet and asked what it was all about. I was actually excited that he had asked. I shared with him of my hope in Christ and gave him the bracelet. I still have a second bracelet and may eventually give that one away too. Thank you Lord for the bracelet of hope.
