What we believe

about the Bible -

The scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, and our inspiration and complete authority.

Romans 15:4; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21

about God -

We believe in only one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the divine nature of the one and only God.
    Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:1-2,8:58; I Corinthians 6:11 8:6; Acts 2:32-33

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to reveal God and to redeem man. He died on the cross for the atonement of our sins and rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and will return again.

    Romans 4:24, 8:34; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-11

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to instruct, comfort, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

     John 14:16-17; I Corinthians 2:12-13, Ephesians 1:13-14

about salvation -

Saving faith is the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. This results in turning away from sin, making a public confession of faith, being baptized, and following in the steps of Jesus. As was the practice in the New Testament, Mountainview Christian Church baptizes by immersion those who have made a confession of faith.

    Matthew 28:19; John 3:16-17; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4, 10:9-10; I Peter 2:21

about the church -

We believe that the true church is made up of all people who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been made a new creation by the Holy Spirit. We are united together in the body of Christ as brothers and sisters and fellow servants giving our allegiance and service to Jesus Christ, our Head.

    Matthew 16:13-18; II Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 2:19-20
